Midland Power Cooperative provided power to the 2008 Farm Progress Show east of Boone.   The 106-acre site called Expo City had more than 515 exhibitors, food courts and entertainment and other buildings.  

 

The site is at the intersection of U.S. Highway 30 and Iowa Highway 17, west of Ames and east of Boone.   The three day event that featured new equipment and services included field demonstrations featuring the latest in agricultural advancements.   The Boone site will be the permanent location on an alternating basis with a location in Illinois.
