The Polk City community is forging ahead with plans to build a new business park on the north end of town.   Big Creek Business Park will consist of nearly 160 acres of commercial development, a YMCA complex, soccer fields and a section for multi-family housing.   

 

The land is owned by Knapp Properties and partnerships have been established with the City of Polk City and the local development group for the establishment of a Tax Increment Financing district to assist with infrastructure extensions and development of the park.  

 

The site is just a few miles from Highway 141 and Interstate I-35 with close proximity to the Des Moines Metro Area.   The business park will be served by Midland Power Cooperative with construction beginning the spring.
