Valero Renewables (formerly US Bio Energy) recently completed a 100 million gallon per year production ethanol plant near Albert City in northwest Iowa. The new plant will consume roughly 37 million bushels of corn annually and create 46 jobs for the local economy. US Bio Energy was founded in 2004 and has quickly become one of the nation’s largest ethanol-producing companies. The company has seven plants that are operational and under construction. When all facilities are completed US Bio Energy will produce more than 600 million gallons of ethanol annually.
