Venture Award Recipient in 2009
Nominated by Clarke Electric Cooperative

Majona Steel Corporation, founded in 1973, is a third generation structural steel manufacturer located in Osceola. The company originated in the Des Moines area having a production facility in Waukee for many years. The company recently completed a 50,000 sq.ft. facility in the E. Eddy Saylor Business Park west of Osceola to accommodate larger projects and grow the family business. Access to I-35 and a quality workforce were beneficial for the company as well as training resources from nearby Southwestern Community College were also location factors. Majona Steel now supplies structural steel for major construction projects around the country. Most recently the company opened a sales office in Houston, Texas to fulfill contracts in the southern states. Majona has finished work on major Iowa projects including Grinnell College and the Iowa State Fair Grounds.
