Rose Acre Farms

Venture Award Recipient in 1992
Nominated by Guthrie County Rural Electric Cooperative

Rose Acre Farms is a family owned egg farm with operations in the rural heartland of America.  The family association with eggs and farming dates back at least 125 years. Rose Acre Brand Eggs came about in the 1930's, started in Indiana. Early on, eggs were sold at the Indianapolis Farmers Market with eggs produced in scenic southern Indiana. The family supplemented those eggs by purchasing surplus eggs from surrounding farmers. By 1955 Rose Acres began construction on the first chicken house located at Rural Route 5, Seymour, Indiana. The business did very well with the extremely fresh eggs produced. Growing with additional egg farms Rose Acres has become known for quality & value and freshness throughout the United States.   Locations in Iowa include Winterset, Guthrie Center, and Stuart.
