Over 650 Iowans are investor members of Western Iowa Energy.  The new 30 million gallon bio-diesel plant began production in the first quarter of 2006 and uses both soybean oil as well as other oils, animal fats, and yellow grease in the bio-diesel production.  The $40 million project employs 30 people.
